ProGIreg Kick-off Conference, Dortmund 25-26 Sept 2018

25 - 26 September 2018

Dortmund, Germany - Alte Schmiede, Hülsdorf 32, 44369 Dortmund-Huckarde

Dortmund will host a conference in Dortmund on 25-26 Sept 2018 to kick-off the innovative green regeneration project.

The conference, which aims to introduce the topic of nature-based solutions for urban regeneration to the wider public, will include presentations and panel discussions on nature-based solutions in practice and the role of local governments. Not only will project partners come together to share ideas and discuss challenges, but also any interested people or organisations are invited to attend and learn about the project.

The project, which is led by the RWTH Aachen University, aims to build collaboration between cities across Europe and in China, which are developing nature-based solutions together with local citizens, civil society, research institutions, local governments and the private sector, to improve the long-term health and well-being of people living in post-industrial areas. The nature-based solutions range from introducing green roofs and vertical gardens for increased biodiversity, to urban gardening and aquaponics for local community-based food production.
