Cities invited to provide feedback on draft action plan on nature-based solutions

14 August 2018

The EU Urban Agenda Partnership on the Sustainable Use of Land and Nature-Based Solutions has launched its draft action plan and is inviting local governments, civil society organisations, national authorities, and academic and financial institutions based in EU Member States to provide their feedback.

This consultation is open until 19 September 2018 and offers a unique opportunity for the public to contribute to the Action Plan.

ICLEI Europe is an active member of the EU Urban Agenda Partnership, which is jointly coordinated by the Polish Ministry of Investment and Economic Development and ICLEI Member Bologna (Italy).

This partnership is one of 12 others, which work on providing thematic recommendations for the implementation of the EU Urban Agenda. The Partnership on the Sustainable Use of Land and Nature-Based Solutions is comprised of 21 members ranging from cities to national governments, research institutes as well as non-governmental and private sector experts.

It focuses on providing input to use and develop urban land, brown fields, functional urban areas as well as nature-based solutions more sustainably and inclusively.

The draft Action Plan open for public consultation includes proposals for action, each with the aim of tackling bottlenecks and creating opportunities for land development in European cities.
